First Games

Greetings all, I aplogise for the lack of posts recently, I've been busy moving rooms again and don't have any space for modeling at the moment.

However today I managed to play my first game of Warhammer 40,000 for almost 5 years! The staff at GW High Wycombe ran a 400pt tournament, and I took along the Crimson Fists to win honour and glory. The tournament was run as doubles and after each game the 2 HQs of each team would fight each other! Not only that but the teams would change after each game, with the winning HQ of one team teaming up with the losing HQ of the other team.

Unfortunatly the Crimson Fists suffered a severe case of "New Army Syndrome", losing 5 of the 6 games I played, and being wiped out in 4 of those. However it was a good day, and I finally got to use my Space Marines in battle. I also learnt that in such small numbers it is wise to put the Captain in with a squad rather than letting him wander about on his own, and also that Combat Squads aren't necessarily the best way to deploy my troops

This was the list I took with me:

Captain Alvarez: Powerfist - 125pts

Squad Ortega: 5 Extra Marines, Plasma Pistol, Plasma Gun, Missile Launcher - 195pts

Squad Alaric: Sniper Rifles, Camo Cloaks - 90pts

Royal Marines - Ambush Alley

Hello all, you may remember in my first post I said I would show armies from games other than Warhammer. Well here are my brave Royal Marines from 9 Troop, X-Ray Company, 41 Commando. These guys will be used in games of Ambush Alley and Force-on-Force (see links).

Lt Smith and Sgt Vaughn direct the men:

1 Section under Cpl Hennesy:

2 Section under Cpl Brown:

3 Section under Cpl Garvy:

Support Weapons:

Engineers from 24 Commando Regiment, Royal Engineers under Sgt Taylor:

UAV Team from the Royal Artillery:

Recce Team from Brigade Reconnaissance Force:

Attached News Crew with a Media Liason Officer:

I'm hoping to attach to this force a Lynx AH.7, a Chinook HC.2, a Scimitar light tank and a Viking transport vehicle. Also more support weapons like a Javelin ATGM might make their way into the force.

Hello all, since my last post progress has been slow due to a combination of work and Dawn of War II. However Squad Santos (Devastators) is almost complete now, they just require basing and then they can take their place in my Crimson Fists army.

Also my Praetorians are slowly building up. Currently I have a 2 squad Platoon completed, with another Platoon and the Command Platoon to be painted.

I have also been expanding the armies. For the Crimson Fists I have a Command Squad, Pedro Kantor and Captain Cortez to be built and painted. The Praetorians have another Lt to lead 2nd Platoon, and also a Standard Bearer and Musician/Vox-Caster for the Command Platoon.

In a similar vein, I was browsing eBay looking for any Crimson/Imperial Fists shoulder pads to possibly upgrade my models with, when I stumbled across several auctions for some Imperial Fists squads. These were very nicely painted and having added the prices up, I am now the new owner of a Imperial Fist Captain and his Command Squad, 2 Tactical Squads and Assault Squad. I am planning to use these as allies for my Crimson Fists and Praetorians. The background behind my armies puts them working together as part of the Imperial effort to cleanse the Loki Sector following WAAAGH! Snagrod and the Rynn's World Incident. The Imperial Fists can be explained away by having them being sent to help the Crimson Fists to build themselves back to Chapter strength.

Photos of all of these will be coming as soon as I get myself a decent camera.

Crimson Fists

I said I would post pictures of my armies and here are the first ones. These are of my Crimson Fist's Space Marines, I apologise for the blurry pictures but at the moment I only have the camera on my phone. Hopefully I can replace these with some decent pictures at a later date.

First Post......

Well...I've finally taken the plunge and started a blog after being inspired by Col.Gravis and his Praetorian Imperial Guard and The Bell of Lost Souls blogs.

At the moment the blog is very empty and not very exciting but hopefully I will start to be able to add new stuff to the blog and make it a bit more exciting.

Expect pictures of my armies for Warhammer 40,000, Ambush Alley and anything else I want to put in here.

Well enough from me for the moment, hopefully it wont be long before I update this again.
