Pedro Kantor...and something a bit different

I'm back! Been a little bit busy with work, but I did manage to get something done. I present Chapter Master Pedro Kantor, The Lord Hellblade, Master of the Crimson Fists:

I havent included him in my Army List as yet, that may have to wait until I have a force suitable for games of Apocalypse, but I had to get the model and after reading "Space Marine Battles: Rynn's World" I get a feeling he may make an appearance....

And now for something slightly different: I've always been interested in the Pre-Horus Heresy period of Warhammer 40,000 ever since the original Index Astartes articles came out, but even more since Black Library published their Horus Heresy novel series. One of the Legions that stood out for me was the Emperor's Children, and after browsing The Great Crusade forums and buying a "special" model that may make its appearance on this blog eventually, I decided to paint up an Emperor's Children Space Marine using the tutorial on the site.

This is actually the first time I've mixed paints or highlighted a model (normally I paint on a base coat then use the Citadel Washes) and I don't think he's turned out too bad. The mix may mean it will take a while to do a squad or even an army of these, but we shall see.

Captain Cortez

Wow, my 2nd post in as many weeks, maybe I can keep this up and update this blog regularly! Anyway I have just finished my latest addition to the Crimson Fists, the renowned Captain Cortez. For those who don't know Captain Cortez was a Crimson Fists special character back in 3rd Edition and was subsequently dropped from the 4th Edition Codex:Space Marines. His background put him as an indestructable hero of the Crimson Fists who could shrug off wounds that would put down most other Space Marines, he even disarmed an Ork warlord by twisting his torso after being stabbed in the ribs by the Ork's choppa! He eventually disappeared fighting the Dark Eldar in a battle known as "The Wheel of Fire". He was greatly mourned by his brothers, especially his closest friend Pedro Kantor. Kantor and many of his fellow Crimson Fists still believe Cortez fights on in the Webway and hope he returns to the Chapter.

I know a lot of people don't like the model Games Workshop produced for him, but I had to get him since he's a Crimson Fist. As there are no rules for him anymore I may simply use him instead of Captain Alvarez, or as another Space Marine Captain.

Blog & Crimson Fists Update

Hello again, as you can see I have updated the blog slightly. I have added several of my favourite blogs to the list on the right. I have also added some new pages to the blog with pictures of my armies, this should make it easier for you all to see them without having to trawl through the blog. As the armies are added to I shall update the pages with the new units.

Speaking of new units, I have completed my first Crimson Fist unit since Christmas. Chaplain Ulfius will lead the Assault Marines of Squad Cantor to victory against the enemies of the Imperium.

New Taliban

Hello all, well I havent managed to keep to my promise of updating this regularly, but I have managed to get some things done for my Ambush Alley/Force on Force...

First up my Taliban:

Taliban leader and his entourage:

Taliban Sniper Team:

Taliban RPG-7s and AK-47s:

Next I have some Air Support for my Brits:

Royal Australian Air Force F/A-18 Hornet (I know the Aussies haven't deployed any of their fast jets to Afghanistan but I wanted one for a potential modern day Aussie force)

I've also got more Taliban and some bits for my Brits to finish off.

All the Taliban are by Britannia Miniatures and the F/A-18 is a plastic kit by Academy.

First Post of the New Decade.......

Well this blog is looking a bit sparse.... I hadn't realised its been nearly 8 months since my last post! A lot has happened since then, I got married in July '09 and am now living in my own house meaning I have plenty of space and time to carry on with wargaming.

On the Warhammer front I haven't been particularly productive, only completing a Command Squad for my Crimson Fists:

I have however made several purchases including:

Space Hulk:

The new Space Wolves Codex and Space Wolf Pack set to add to my exisiting Battleforce:

On the Ambush Alley /Historical Front I have been much more productive. I have added several new pieces to my Royal Marines:

A Viking All Terrain Vehicle from the Royal Marine Armoured Support Group:

A Scimiter CVR(T) from the Household Cavalry Regiment:

A 51mm Mortar to add to the Command Section:

A Javelin ATGM Team:

A RAF Police Dog Team:

A die-cast Corgi Chinook HC.2 from 27 Sqn, RAF:

An Army Air Corps Lynx AH.7:

Thats all for now, hopefully I will be able to update this a bit more regularly than last year.
